Need to Downsize? Hire an Accredited Staging Professional!

Many senior citizens who are looking to downsize into retirement communities have one thing standing in their way – their homes. Often they are not able to move because they can’t sell their houses.

Downsizing from a house that’s been lived in and loved for many years is not an easy task. Parting with the memories of your time in the home can be the most difficult thing. Often the home has not been updated for many years, and is decorated to appeal to the home owner’s personal tastes. But what appealed to you 20 years ago may not appeal to today’s potential buyers. And most buyers do not want projects! They are often willing to pay more money to avoid a long list of thing to do to update a home.

Once you make the decision to sell your home, it is not about your personal tastes. To make the process less painful, sellers must come to grips with the fact that this is no longer your home the moment you decide to sell - not when escrow closes. From the moment you make that decision, the property is not the place where you made so many memories. It is an asset to be sold.

That is a great reason to bring in a Home Staging Professional!  It is very difficult for home owners to be objective about their homes.  And most sellers are not designers. They may not know what style and colors are popular today.  An Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) can give you recommendations on everything that needs to be done to get your home ready for sale. Look for a professional with experience, education and their own inventory of furniture and accessories to make sure you get the best Staging result possible!

At Staged By L, our Accredited Staging Professional Master Stager Laura Fulton, has more than 20 years of experience in real estate investing, property management and home staging. We would love to help you sell your home quickly and often for more money!

Start of 2017 Right - Organize Your Home!

Declutter:  It's a term everyone has heard, but it is so necessary! The New Year is a great time to donate, recycle and reuse the things gathering dust in your home. Going through your belongings is a cleansing experience. You will feel lighter! Clutter can literally cause STRESS!

When you begin to declutter, the first and easiest thing you can do is to stop the flow of stuff into your home. If you struggle with clutter, a sign advertising an after Christmas Blowout Sale may cause your pulse to race and your foot to hit the brake. Be strong! Don't do it!

Where do you begin when decluttering your home? Keep it Simple! Start with those items that have no sentimental value. Leave the heirlooms, the kids school & art work for another day.  Sort through those items that you know you have too many of, or you don't really care about & can part with.

Most importantly, don't over think it!  By doing a few things every day, you will be well on your way to a clutter free home.  You can do it!

Staging Tips

Looking for some staging tips to help sell your home?  One of the very best tips is… LEARN TO LET GO! Once you make the decision to sell your home, it’s NOT about your personal tastes. You will suffer less if you can emotionally come to grips with the fact that this is no longer your home the moment you decide to sell, not when escrow closes. From the moment you make that decision, the property is not the place where you made so many memories. It is an asset to be sold. And you want to sell it for as much money as possible in the shortest time possible!

Another staging tip is to look at your home from the point of view of a stranger. You’ll see the cluttered corners, rooms with too much furniture, piles of mail, multiple bottles of potions and lotions in the bathroom, piles of shoes at an entrance. Clutter eats equity! Spaces will look larger with less furniture and less of your personal items.  You want potential buyers to imagine themselves living there.

What is Home Staging?

Home Staging is preparing your home for sale using all of the available space in the most effective way, to appeal to the greatest number of buyers. Staged By L can stage your home using your existing furnishings, by decluttering, depersonalizing and repurposing the pieces you have. They can also add accessories and smaller items to create that WOW factor.

Buyers have a difficult time visualizing their own furniture in a vacant home. Vacant home staging allows Staged By L to create a customized color pallet and design by choosing from their large inventory of furniture and accessories to find those pieces that compliment your home’s best features.  We create a custom package for each home with the select pieces that will work best for you.

Studies have shown that staged homes sell for more money and in a shorter time on the market than non-staged homes. Let the experts at Staged By L stage your home to sell TODAY!

The bottom line is home staging doesn’t cost a dime! See the real costs of staging below:

Stage Your Home - Time Is Money

When it comes to selling a home, time is not on your side. Homes that languish on the market typically undergo at least one price reduction, which can swiftly eat into a seller’s profits. Home staging is a tool homeowners can use to sell faster and often at a higher price. Surveys conducted by the International Association of Home Staging Professionals show that 95 percent of homes staged by an accredited staging professional sold in 11 days or less compared to an average of 90 days for homes that were not staged. And, the staged homes sold for an average of 17 percent more than non-staged home.

Moving with Kids: Help!

Moving is widely thought to be one of the most stressful events in life. Adding kids to the moving mix can make it extremely stressful for a young family to sell their home. Here's a tip to help control the chaos - Keep only one box of toys in the house for each child and put the rest in storage. You can always alternate the toys your child has access to if your home is on the market for more than a couple of weeks.

Accredited, Professional Home Stagers

Why use a PROFESSIONAL STAGER? Staging is the best way to sell your home for the most money in the shortest time on the market!  Staging adds warmth and desirability.  Staging helps sellers understand what they need to do to make their home competitive in the current market.  But there are lots of “part time” stagers.  Don’t trust your home sale to someone who hasn’t received the education they need.  Make sure you use only an accredited stager!

Cleveland Area Home Stagers Help Buyers See Your Home's Potential

Can’t potential buyers see past the décor? Only one out of ten people can visualize what a room could look like with different furnishings. Potential buyers only see what is there. If the decor is very personal or overcrowded, the buyer does not see the potential of the space. This is also especially true for vacant homes, which leave way too much to the imagination for most people. Buyers have a difficult time envisioning how their furniture would fit in the space or how the layout would work for them. Often because the vacant home does not create a memorable impact or an emotional connection, potential buyers move on to buy furnished homes.
